Recommendations from Nxt Era Edu

First, discover your WHY. This is a great time to pull out a piece of paper and write it down. Feel free to add in your own personal questions.

Ask yourself questions like: 

• Why do I want to homeschool?
• Why should I homeschool?
• Why does my family want to homeschool?
• Why is homeschooling the best decision for my family?

Then once you’ve finished this process, save the paper for later. It’s a good reminder to keep on hand. When you’re doubting your decision or feeling worn out, pull out this list and review it. 

Deschool your mind. Research deschooling and what it means. In short, the process of deschooling requires families to let go of the school mindset and take a more open approach to education. In addition, research homeschooling. Listen to podcasts and read books about it. Feel free to check out our podcast on homeschooling.

This process may take some time, so in the meantime, you could read books from the library and find printable math sheets online.
