5 Tips for Building a Healthy Homeschooling Family
Feb 13, 2026Recently, I sat down with Brooke Tabor, who is a homeschool mom and avid runner. As the wife of an AirForce serviceman and the mom of three kids, she holds a busy schedule. She also creates social media content on Instagram @thegorgeousgrace. On her account, she carries over 14,000 followers.
During the interview, we had a fruitful conversation, and she provided many helpful tips for other homeschool moms. These tips included:
- Exercise and find your inspiration.
- Give yourself grace.
- Find balance.
- Make the important things a part of your routine.
- Utilize healthy snack ideas.
Building a Healthy Family through Motivation and Grace
First of all, take time to exercise. During this time, find out what motivates you. What inspires you to keep going and keep achieving your health goals? Concentrate on your inspiration to keep you strong! Let your inspiration propel you forward and reach those health goals.
Next, give yourself grace. Homeschooling and health goals can cause you to feel overwhelmed. You might find yourself eating fast food or skipping workouts. Maybe you snapped at your kids. Give yourself grace. If you need time to reset and rest, that’s okay. We are all human.
Continuing, find balance in your life journey. If you feel unmotivated to homeschool, it’s okay. If your homeschool day becomes chaotic, that’s okay, too. It’s okay to eat out here and there or skip an exercise day. If you need to, take a whole week off. Your kids will also learn balance as you cultivate balance within your own life.
Make the important things a part of your routine. Sit down and have a family meeting. What goals do you want to achieve together? Where do you want to grow? What is important to your family? Write your answers down and discuss what you want to include in your family schedule.
Lastly, Ms. Tabor recommended several healthy snack ideas.
- Beef jerky
- Fresh fruit
- Energy balls (make them from home if you can)
- Bread (add peanut butter)
- Hardboiled eggs
Conclusion
In conclusion, Ms. Tabor provided helpful tips for homeschool families who want to achieve health goals. Her words can inspire us all and motivate us to work hard. She also encourages balance and grace as we push for our goals. Remember to give yourself time and space to rest and relax. We all need rest days, so we’re productive in conquering our next goals. In the end, focus on what matters to your family!
