4 Steps to Restore Your Health as a Homeschool Parent

Have you been struggling with your health as a homeschool mom? Maybe you’re a homeschool dad who just feels sluggish and frequently tired. Well, J and I recently interviewed Mr. Sharp of Discover Health FM. Mr. Sharp serves homeschool moms who need help with energy and gut health. We discussed everything from managing personal health as a homeschool parent to dealing with chronic illness, or using nature as a practice of functional medicine. Mr. Sharp provided several tips on how to improve your health as a homeschool parent. 

  • Detoxify your home.
  • Get sunshine.
  • Reconnect with your source material. 
  • Walk after you eat a meal. 

Health Restoration 101

These tips can help you restore your health and improve your quality of life as a homeschool parent. Mr. Sharp expressed that mothers are the gateway to the health of the home. Therefore, it starts with you. You can start today by detoxifying your home. Get rid of toxic soaps, makeup, or cleaning chemicals. Take it slow, and you don’t have to do this process overnight. Take time to research ingredients and find substitutes. 

Next, get outside. You need to get both sunshine and reconnect with your source material, which is the earth. Mr. Sharp recommends this for both physical and mental benefits. Enjoy the warmth of the sun as it leaves Vitamin D in your body, or feel at peace as you breathe in the scents of nature and let your feet rest on warm grass. If you can’t get outside due to the weather, purchase an electrical pad. Mr. Shrap explained that this has the same benefits as grounding. 

You can also include your family in this activity. Go outside and play in the sunshine. Read outside and sit in the grass. Study plants as a learning activity. Play in the snow and make a snowman. Whatever the project, get outside and enjoy nature. 

Finally, Mr. Sharp recommends that homeschool parents should walk after they eat. This practice can improve weight loss, digestion, gut health, circulation, and insulin sensitivity. Therefore, again, include your family or use this practice to find alone time to recharge your mind and body.

In conclusion, you, as the homeschool parent, can restore your health and take steps to care for yourself and your family. Add these simple practices to your routine to improve your health and home environment. We believe you can do this, and we want to see you find strength in your health.
