4 Steps to Cultivating Lifelong Growth as a Homeschool Family

Feb 25, 2026

Recently, Nxt Era interviewed Greg Denning, who is a husband and father. He has been married to his wife for 25 years and has seven children. His children span ages 23-9 years. He is a worldschooling expert, parent coach, and homeschool father.

He and his family have traveled all over the world. They wanted to turn the globe into their classroom, so they did. Mr. Denning also has experience in teaching and has worked with youth for over 30 years. During this experience, he saw what the system couldn’t provide to kids. Now, he coaches teens and has a group that meets regularly to discuss life.

Mr. Denning provided excellent insights on worldschooling, healthy living, and how to cultivate lifelong growth.

  • Read books.
  • Travel with your family.
  • Learn a new language or learn how to play an instrument.
  • Take care of your body.

How to Cultivate Lifelong Learning

First of all, Mr. Denning recommends reading voraciously! Read on your own as well as with your homeschoolers. Also, tell stories as a family. For example, Mr. Denning read Les Misérables on his own and then verbally told the story to his children. Access our Book List or Mr. Denning’s book lists below.

Next, travel with your family. Learn how to communicate with people from all walks of life. Try new foods and experience culture. This gives your homeschoolers in-the-moment learning experiences. They will have access to art, literature, science, and communication in different countries. This creates new memories that will last a lifetime.

Continuing, learn a new language or learn how to play an instrument. Learning new skills can strengthen your mind. It also gives you motivation to work towards an end goal. When learning a new language, Mr. Denning recommends using a good app or total immersion as two solid options.

Finally, take care of your body. Mr. Denning encourages getting good sleep, eating good food (grass-fed or organic meat, free-range eggs, cheeses, creams, fats, cottage cheese, vegetables, and fruits), and create a good environment (detoxify your home). Also, exercise often. Find ways that make you enjoy exercise. Maybe you enjoy walking or running. Maybe you get a rush from a good cardio class or pumping weights at the gym.

In addition, work on your mental state. Take those negative thoughts and reframe them into positive thoughts. Rewrite negative experiences in your mind. How did you grow and learn from that experience? Did you gain inner strength? Work on yourself to grow as a human.

Conclusion

In conclusion, these tips can help you and your homeschool family grow and cultivate lifelong learning. These insights lead to knowledge and fruitful experiences. Mr. Denning’s life can inspire us to set family goals and heights to reach. We can work on ourselves to reach great potential as we travel along our homeschooling journeys.
