4 Steps to Begin Your Homeschooling Journey
May 04, 2026The system is broken and will break your child. Amid the rise of sexual abuse cases in schools and the decline of cognitive ability in students, we should be concerned. What can parents do? Well, the clear-cut answer is to homeschool their children. Remove your children from the toxic environment and give them back their childhood.
- Acknowledge the facts.
- Discuss the school system with your children.
- Pull them out of school.
- Deschool.
Get Them Outta There!
A solid transformation begins with acknowledging the facts about our school system. It’s broken and violates your child’s safety. Realize that it’s training your child to become a worker, not a free thinker. In fact, homeschoolers often outperform public school students. That should tell us all something about the school system.
Next, discuss the school system with your children. Discuss the problems behind it. Talk about safety issues, such as bullying, grooming, physical abuse, sexual abuse, etc., if your child is old enough. Make sure your child feels comfortable being honest with you on these topics. Have open conversations with your entire family, so everyone is “in the know.”
Continuing, pull your kids out of school. However, before you do so, consult your state’s homeschool laws on HSLDA. Then bring them home. Keep them safe at home. Allow them to flourish by learning through life experiences and time with you. This will give them back their childhood and allow them to learn in freedom.
Finally, take time to deschool. Enjoy a relaxed time together without diving into lessons and/or workbooks straightaway. Read together, watch movies, go on picnics, and just enjoy spending time together. Also, as the parent, take time to learn more about the homeschool mindset and set down the public school mindset.
Conclusion
In conclusion, if you can pull your child out of the school system, do it as soon as possible. If you can’t pull your child out, offer yourself grace. Take time to openly discuss the system and learn together outside of the school system. At Nxt Era, we know you desire to support your child even if you can’t homeschool.
