3 Steps to Working and Raising Life-Skilled Homeschoolers
Apr 15, 2026Have you ever wondered how to work and raise life-skilled homeschoolers? David and I recently spoke with Samara Rempel, who is a Canadian homeschool mom and high-ticket sales expert. She wanted to homeschool and teach her children important values. In 2020, she lost her waitressing job due to the pandemic. After losing her job, she trained herself in high-ticket sales.
Now, she owns a high-ticket sales company where she trains others in high-ticket sales and earns a seven-figure annual income. In addition, she homeschools her two children and travels with her family.
Ms. Rempel gave many insights in our interview on high-ticket sales and managing the homeschool mom life. In this post, I want to highlight three of her suggestions.
- Demonstrate the importance of reaching for goals.
- Teach life skills to your children.
- Have fun and learn from failure!
Life is a Lesson!
First of all, live out your goals and reach for them. As a parent, you must demonstrate working hard and pursuing your passions. When your homeschoolers see you locking in to achieve your goals, this will encourage them to do the same in their lives.
Continuing, let your child see you step outside of your comfort zone to reach your goals. Put in the effort to achieve your dreams. For example, if you want to run your own business, you might need to take a technology/computer course. Some people may find it uncomfortable. Therefore, push yourself to get outside of your comfort zone to snatch up your dreams.
Also, set a time each day to work on your goals. If you’re a parent, you can set this time during naptime or bedtime. If your kiddos are older, you can set this time during independent schoolwork.
Next, teach life skills to your children. Many of our experts have emphasized this mindset, and Ms. Rempel certainly emphasized teaching life skills. Teach your child to change a tire or cook a simple meal. Also, teach them how to problem-solve in the real world. Have open discussions and show them how you solve problems. Involve them in your business (if you have one). Demonstrate how you fill out tax forms or write an email. These skills will serve them well in life!
Additionally, encourage your child to start their own business and heavily pursue their own interests. I am so grateful that my parents let me deeply focus on my passions. I wouldn’t be where I am today without their guidance and support of my dreams and passions. At Nxt Era, we highly encourage homeschoolers to start their own business. Parents can encourage their children’s passions and motivate them to start their own business. Coupled with life skills, this will benefit your homeschooler for the rest of their lives.
Lastly, have fun and learn from failure. Don’t take yourself seriously and be willing to laugh at yourself. When you mess up, look at it as a learning experience. How can you learn from your failures and mistakes? Granted, I admit this is not an easy mindset. However, we all can practice this and show our children that failure isn’t scary. It’s a lesson! According to Ms. Rempel, failure teaches us to fly.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I personally loved this interview. I learned so much from Ms. Rempel, and she educated listeners about the high-ticket sales world. She also spoke to homeschooling moms with encouragement and advice. Her words can inspire parents out there who need a push of motivation and a kind word. Life is a lesson, and we can let it teach us.
