2 Ways to Connect Your Family Through Homeschooling

Dec 15, 2025

Did you know that public schooling takes away 16,000 hours from your family? David and I recently spoke with Stephanie Cavin, who shared that fact. Ms. Cavin is a second-generation homeschooler and a viral Instagram content creator. She explained that public schooling robs your children of time, childhood joy, good mental health, and learning freedom.

Are you a parent searching for something different? Do you long for something different for your child? Perhaps you’re worried about how to work and homeschool. Ms. Cavin recommended two steps to help you.

  • Create a routine.
  • Live together.

Build a Routine & Learn to Live Together

First of all, to succeed as a working homeschool family, you need a routine. Find a system that works for you. Outsource as needed and find materials that don’t require you to teach your child all day. If you don’t want to design your own homeschooling system, Ms. Cavin designed her own 2-hour routine for working parents to use.

Discuss curricula, learning styles, and methods that you want to implement with your spouse and children. Use this time to communicate lovingly and openly as a family.

Next, live together. The public school system separates families, while homeschooling brings them together. You can live together and form strong bonds through homeschooling.

Go to the park, the library, or the local lake. Go on field trips. Read together. Bake as a family unit. Make an outdoor campfire. Study materials together. Romp in the woods and just have fun.

Learn to live together as a family and become a unit. Bring together what society desires to separate. Find freedom and familial love in homeschooling. You are capable and can do this.
